Origin
- Medial epicondyle humerus
- Medial surface of olecranon
- Posterior aspect of proximal 2/3 of ulna
Insertion
- Os pisiforme
- Os hamatum
- Base of 5. metacarpal

- Ulnar deviation

- Segmental
- C7-Th1
- Peripheral
- Ulnaris nerve
Arterial supply
- Ulnar artery
Palpation
- Patient position
- Sitting or supine
- Place a hand on the palmar aspect of the patient's wrist
- Ask the patient to flex and ulnar deviate the wrist
- Feel for the tendon at the ulnar side of the palmar aspect of the wrist
- The patient should keep the fingers extended to seperate between flexor carpi ulnaris and flexor digitorum superficialis
Strength test
- Patient position
- Sitting or supine
- Ask the patient to hold the lower arm in full supination
- Give resistance towards the palmar aspect of the hand in direction of extension and radial deviation so that the patient is giving force towards flexion and ulnar deviation
