Aversion and fear

At this part of the development, the pattern is changing away from alertness and readiness towards escape from an attack response instead. The body is in conflict, unsure whether it is facing forward, turning, or folding into a fetus position.


Emotional state

  • Loss of control of situation and affecting people in their sorroundings
  • Feeling of being trapped
  • Beginning of disassociation

  • Escape from threats

Muscle reaction in pattern

  • Compression of stomach muscles affecting the abdominal wall and viscera
  • Tendency to fold up in defense
  • Tendency to turn away from potential threat
  • Pelvis and feet pull up severly
